Free power recharging and internet access stations at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will provide passengers with an even more convenient travelling experience in Hong Kong. The new Power Pole facility offers broadband at download speeds up to 21Mbps plus a recharging service.
It is also outfitted with two power socket outlets and four USB ports, enabling several travellers to use the service at the same time. These outlets can be connected to most portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, laptops, MP3 players and PDAs. Assistant general manager Christina Cheng announced that JCDecaux Transport and HKIA will install five Power Poles at the Departure Concourse.
“We conduct surveys at regular intervals to keep track of airport passengers’ requirements and we always aim to team up with the best partners to provide new services that could enhance passengers’ experience. An average of nearly three hours’ dwell time for departing and transfer passengers indicates that the Power Pole facility could make waiting time much more productive.”
General manager of JCDecaux Transport, Shirley Chan, said, “The Power Pole for Hong Kong International Airport is a top service for airport passengers and also an innovative advertising medium for our advertiser sto attract their audiences more effectively.”
