Megadata has won a contract from Denver International Airport to supply its PASSUR OPSnet operations management system. PASSUR supports efficient management of an airport, both on a daily basis and during irregular events, such as snow and ice, lightning, and construction.
The system combines automated updates from all key users of the airport and uses an advanced database to support instant communication and information sharing between all key players of the airport community in real time. It includes detailed field condition report templates, airline slot self-management tools, weather and automated flight status information.
Megadata gathers flight information from its dedicated network of passive radars located at more than 70 airports worldwide, including 33 of the top 35 US airports, from which it provides information, analysis and decision support tools for airport managers.

Denver has specified an enhancement to the system to support its frequent snow clearance and de-icing operations during winter months.
"Coordination of resources during regular and irregular operations is key to a successful operation, ensuring maximum performance and continuing customer satisfaction," says John Kinney, deputy manager of aviation for airport operations and public safety at Denver.
"We believe best of breed protocols designed for instant implementation for a range of contingencies shared with the entire airport community is critical for smooth operational performance – and we're very pleased Denver International Airport has joined the many airports and airlines who share our vision," says Jim Barry, President and CEO of Megadata.
Megadata claims studies by Booz Allen Hamilton and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey have shown the system provides a positive return on investment.
