Luton Airport in the UK has launched a new multilingual communications system for flight departures. The airport’s new Aviavox system will allow flight departure information to be broadcast in nine different languages.
The system is also capable of broadcasting information about particular routes and flights across different parts of the airport, so that messages with limited relevance can be targeted at those needing the information and not the whole airport.
An airport spokesman says that the new system is particularly useful for delivering security messages and will be essential during peak travel times.
