Copenhagen Airport records its busiest month ever

Copenhagen Airport in Denmark recorded its busiest ever month in July 2015 after 2,727,691 passengers passed through its terminals – a 5.1% increase compared with July 2014. The unexpected surge in passenger traffic has been attributed to unsettled summer weather in Denmark and southern Sweden.

Thomas Woldbye, CEO, Copenhagen Airports, the airport operator, said, “It was the first time in our 90-year history that we served more than 2.7 million passengers in a single month, and the figures show that both European and intercontinental routes attracted sun-starved Danes.”

In July 2014, the airport recorded six days where passenger numbers exceeded 90,000. In July 2015, travelers exceeded this number on 20 occasions. So far in 2015, Copenhagen Airport has served 15,073,230 passengers, a 0.8% increase over the same period in 2014.
