Premium Passport Control arrives at London Gatwick Airport

London Gatwick Airport has partnered with UK Border Force to launch Premium Passport Control, a service that offers incoming passengers a dedicated lane for speedier travel when arriving at the airport.

Border Force is a government agency responsible for frontline border control in the UK. The department has worked with London Gatwick to design the new service, which provides a swift arrivals process for business passengers and holidaymakers who want to get to their onward destination quickly and hassle free. The premium service is available to all passengers regardless of their class of travel.

To minimize waiting times, the new service is limited to 50 passengers per hour and costs £12.50 (US$19) per passenger. Bookings need to be made online at least 24 hours before landing at Gatwick.

Guy Stephenson, chief commercial officer at London Gatwick, said, “The availability of this new Gatwick Premium Passport Control service to all our arriving customers will provide a more predictable, speedy and relaxed arrival into the UK.

“This is a further example of how Gatwick is investing to meet the requirements of our premium travelers, adding to our premium parking, premium security and limousine drop off services. Premium Passport Control will also get you quickly onto the fastest public transport links into the heart of London, thereby making the most of your valuable time.”
Sue Young, regional director for Border Force, said, “Border Force has worked closely with Gatwick Airport to introduce the Premium Passport Control service which will allow business travelers and those on tight schedules to make the most of their stay with the shortest possible wait.

“Border Force uses the latest technology to process all passengers arriving into the UK as quickly as possible. Last year 18.7 million people used e-passport gates at UK airports. Premium Passport Control will provide passengers at Gatwick with another choice of a quick, secure and convenient route through the UK border.”
