Vanderlande records orders worth US$1.5bn in 2015

Automated systems provider Vanderlande has secured record orders worth €1.4bn (US$1.5bn) in 2015, an increase of €400m (US$434m) when compared with the previous year. The orders include integrated solutions for the baggage handling, warehouse automation and parcel and postal markets, as well as the group’s life-cycle services.

In its baggage handling division, Vanderlande secured two major contracts in 2015 including the installation of the entire baggage handling system (BHS) for Istanbul’s new international airport in Turkey and the BHS contract for the Terminal 1 Redevelopment project at Singapore Changi Airport. Further orders were secured with Kingsford Smith International Airport in Sydney, Australia, Kiev Boryspil Airport in Ukraine and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Texas, USA.

In its parcel and postal division, Vanderlande secured new contracts with several major parcel delivery companies including FedEx, SF Express in China and DHL Leipzig, part of Deutsche Post DHL.

The group also secured a number of contracts for its warehouse automation division, including automated case picking (ACP) contracts for major food retailers such as Albert Heijn in the Netherlands, E.Leclerc in France, Consum in Spain and Cencosud in Chile.

Govert Hamers, CEO of Vanderlande, said, “Vanderlande is continuing to add value to our customers’ businesses, which is helping us to expand within our current markets. We are currently carrying out as many as 260 projects in no fewer than 105 countries worldwide, and internationalization is increasingly important for our company’s ongoing success. As a leading global partner, our international network is an invaluable asset as we ensure that we are in close proximity to our customers.”
