Canine volunteers to enhance passenger experience at Calgary Airport

Airport operator Calgary Airport Authority (CAA) has launched a new program featuring canine companions to enhance the passenger experience at Calgary International Airport in Canada.

Pre-Board Pals, a collaboration between CAA and the Pet Access League Society (PALS), will see four therapy dogs per shift roaming the terminals and providing comfort to passengers and employees by encouraging hands-on therapeutic interaction.

Garth Atkinson, president and CEO for CAA, said, “Pre-Board Pals demonstrates our commitment and passion for providing an amazing airport experience at Calgary Airport. With millions of guests traveling through our airport each year, we know that our new pals will be another positive touch point for our passengers.”

Diana Segboer, executive director for PALS, said, “We have an incredible team of dogs and handlers that the passengers at Calgary International Airport are absolutely going to love.”
