LAX seeking proposals for latest round of construction contracts

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the operator of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in California, USA, has released a request for proposals (RFP) for project and construction management as well as project controls support services as part of the airport’s ongoing Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

The multi-billion-dollar construction program has seen improvements made to nearly every terminal at the airport to date, and the latest phase will see LAWA partner with local businesses of all sizes to implement airfield, landside, terminal and utility improvements.

The latest series of five-year contracts will have an accumulative value of approximately US$350m and will require both small business enterprise (SBE) participation, and a local business preference (LBE) factor. LAWA intends to award multiple contracts to qualified small, medium and large category firms as described in the RFP.

Deborah Flint, CEO for LAWA, said, “The maximum inclusion of local, small and diverse businesses including small, disadvantaged, minority, woman-owned and veteran-owned firms is my highest priority in this and other future solicitations.”

Qualified firms interested in this opportunity are encouraged to obtain information from the City of Los Angeles Business Assistance Virtual Network (LABAVN) at for related documents and upcoming events.
