Pontus in the Air opens at Stockholm Arlanda Airport

Renowned Swedish chef Pontus Frithiof has opened a new restaurant concept where travelers can pre-order their food for collection prior to flying from Terminal 5 (T5) at Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden.

Pontus in the Air comprises three sections: a bistro-style sit down restaurant for 100 guests; a food-market with seating for 150 travelers; and a collection area where passengers can collect dishes to take on board their flight.

The pre-order facility will allow certain passengers to maximize their time at the airport prior to catching their flight. The restaurant also offers free wi-fi and charging stations for mobile devices and has been fitted with multiple screens providing information about gates, boarding and departure times.

Frithiof, said, “Pontus in the Air is a really exciting project that is unlike anything else at Stockholm Arlanda today. We would like passengers in the future to always choose to start their trip with us with breakfast, lunch, dinner or a drink in the bars. It is our aim to be the best airport restaurant in Europe.”

Niklas Sundberg, head of food and beverage, commercial services at Swedavia, the airport operator, said, “We are very pleased and proud to now welcome Pontus in the Air to Stockholm Arlanda. With Pontus’s knowledge and experience, we will be able to offer our passengers a food experience of the highest quality and with great personality. The different food concepts will appeal to our passengers, both Swedish and international, who have different food preferences and different amounts of time to spend at Stockholm Arlanda.”
