Hong Kong International Airport launches art and culture festival

Airport operator Hong Kong Airport Authority has launched its art, culture and music festival at Hong Kong International Airport in China.

The five-month program features an array of art and culture displays, with local talents showcasing the city’s unique blend of Eastern and Western culture.
Now in its second year, the festival features a wide range of vibrant performances and exhibitions, including Cantonese Opera; jazz and classical music; photo exhibitions; comic sketches; city-scape paintings; and a gallery dedicated to former martial arts expert Bruce Lee.

Anita Fung, chairlady of the Art and Culture Advisory Committee for Hong Kong Airport Authority, said, “We cannot only rely on hardware improvements to enhance passengers’ overall airport experience. We must also introduce new services and ideas catering to passengers’ different needs. This is why the authority established the Art and Culture Advisory Committee last year, to showcase local art and culture at Hong Kong International Airport. The committee has organized various art, culture and music activities at the airport, providing a unique and memorable experience for travelers, and introducing them to Hong Kong’s talented local artists and its one-of-a-kind east-meets-west culture. We hope to use the airport as a stage to showcase our lively local culture and arts to passengers from around the world.”
