Automated Global Entry kiosks installed at Sacramento International

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has installed two new automated Global Entry kiosks in the Terminal B International Arrivals facility at Sacramento International Airport in California.

Global Entry members arriving from international destinations can use the kiosks to expedite the CBP inspection process, leading to reduced wait times. Program participants must first scan their e-passport or US permanent resident card at the kiosk, before placing their fingertips on the scanner for fingerprint verification. Passengers are then asked to make a customs declaration before being issued with a transaction receipt.

Global Entry is open to US citizens, nationals, lawful permanent residents, and citizens of certain other countries, including Mexican nationals. Applicants pay a US$100 non-refundable application fee and undergo a rigorous background check and interview before enrollment. Upon approval, membership is valid for five years.

Mark Haneke, air service development manager for Sacramento International Airport, said, “Our International Arrivals facility serves over 500 international arriving passengers per day on Aeroméxico flights from Mexico City and Guadalajara, and Volaris flights from Guadalajara. As the airport’s international passenger activity continues to grow, Global Entry is one solution to expediting travelers through the arrivals process and enhancing their experience as they end their journey in Sacramento.”
