Munich Airport serves record one million passengers in a week

Munich Airport in Germany looks set to break a number of records in September 2016 including the airport’s busiest day, week and month.

For the week commencing September 19, Munich Airport served a total of 1,008,000 travelers, the first time that the airport has topped the million-passenger barrier in a single calendar week. The 8,600 flight movements recorded that week also represented a 6% gain over the same week in 2015.

The busiest day of the week fell on Friday, September 23, with a total of 156,000 passengers. This also set a new all-time record for a single day at Munich Airport. The Bavarian hub is also on course for a new monthly record, with the total number of passengers set to reach 4.2 million, a 6% gain over the same month in 2015.
