Rockwell to replace T7 check-in technology at JFK Airport

International Airlines Group (IAG), the holding company of airline operators Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia and Vueling, has contracted IT solutions provider Rockwell Collins to replace the current check-in technology in Terminal 7 (T7) at John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York.

Rockwell will replace the legacy systems with its common use passenger processing platform (CUPPS) ARINC vMUSE solution. The international terminal is currently used by 10 major international carriers, who stand to benefit from being able to provide an enhanced check-in experience for passengers and their baggage.

The new contract also includes the use of Rockwell Collins’s ARINC AviNet network and message solution which provides a secure, fast and efficient way to communicate flight operation, aircraft maintenance and other critical messages.

Paul Hickox, head of airport systems sales for Rockwell Collins, said, “JFK is the busiest international airport gateway into the USA and T7 is a premier location for flights into and out of the country. ARINC vMUSE provides the type of services – such as a fast and convenient check-in experience – that international travelers have come to expect from the world’s leading airports.”
