Jamie’s Deli opened at Oslo Airport

Renowned UK chef Jamie Oliver has partnered with restaurateur SSP to open Jamie’s Deli at Oslo Airport in Norway – the first of its kind outside the UK.

The new restaurant is the first of 29 food and beverage (F&B) units to be opened by SSP as part of a major expansion project at Oslo Airport, set to be officially unveiled on April 27, 2017. Jamie’s Deli serves rustic food that’s fast, honest and traceable to a sustainable source. Fresh produce is also sourced locally where possible.

The restaurant offers a wide selection of healthy meal choices, as well as occasional treats such as freshly baked pastries. A smoothie station also provides fresh drinks, blended to order. Customers can choose to eat in or take away, enjoying the same high quality whether they dine in or grab and go. Hot food displays, a pizza oven and open kitchens serve to entertain passengers during their visit.

Morten Solberg Nilsen, managing director of SSP Norway, said, “Jamie Oliver is one of the world’s best known chefs and his name is instantly recognizable here in Norway. This new deli, which has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the airport passenger from breakfast time to late in the evening, will be very popular with passengers at Oslo, and will be the perfect complement to the excellent range of brands SSP will be offering at this important travel location.”

Torgeir Kjos Sørensen, commercial director at Oslo Airport, said, “We are excited to welcome Jamie Oliver to Oslo Airport. We are certain this will be well received, and are looking forward to further strengthening the food and beverage offer at the airport.”

SSP plans to open a Jamie’s Italian restaurant at Oslo Airport in April 2017 as part of the next stages of the development project. The restaurant operator is also planning to open a Jamie’s Deli at Dusseldorf Airport in Germany in early 2017.
