OMA begins expansion of Chihuahua Airport in Mexico

Mexican airport Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA) has begun the expansion and renovation of Chihuahua International Airport in northwest Mexico.

The expansion of the terminal building will increase its capacity to serve 1.7 million passengers annually and will cost approximately US$15.2m over a period of 20 months. The works include the extension and remodeling of a total area of more than 164,000ft² including check-in, security, baggage claim and the gate room areas.

Porfirio González, director general, OMA, said, “The expansion and remodeling of the terminal building at Chihuahua Airport is a demonstration of the commitment that OMA has with the state of Chihuahua. The expansion will provide greater comfort for customers, while simultaneously increasing aerial connectivity and the attraction of running flights from this airport.”
