MAG to open shared-use passenger lounge at Manchester Airport T3

Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the operator of Manchester Airport in northwest England in the UK, has unveiled its plans for the construction of a new passenger lounge in Terminal 3 (T3).

Named after the year of the Wright brothers’s first flight, 1903 will accommodate up to 71 travelers and will be delivered by engineering firm Gariff Construction at a cost of approximately £1m (US$1.26m). The lounge is scheduled for completion in April 2017 and will cost £30 (US$38) per adult for early bookings.

Guests at 1903 will have access to fast track security and complimentary wi-fi, as well as a selection of seasonal dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Select premium spirits will also be available free-of-charge.

Ken O’Toole, CEO of Manchester Airport, said, “We’re looking forward to the launch of 1903 in T3. It’s in a prime location and will offer passengers a real slice of luxury before their flight. We continually listen to the needs of our passengers and 1903 offers something different from our existing airport lounges.”

Beth Brewster, executive vice president of business development and lounges for MAG, said, “1903 at Manchester Airport will be our flagship lounge for the brand and will provide passengers travelling through T3 with the opportunity to begin their travel in the most enjoyable and relaxing manner possible. We expect to roll the brand out in due course to our other airports.”
