Qatar Duty Free opens third Gold store at Hamad International Airport

Retail operator Qatar Duty Free has opened its third Gold store at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. The new Gold store is the most luxurious yet, showcasing more than 15,000 pieces of traditional and modern jewelry made from the finest gold and diamonds.

Passengers can choose from a diverse selection of items with pieces ranging from 9ct to 24ct in yellow gold, white gold, diamond and precious stone-studded jewelry. In addition to the ready-made jewelry pieces, the store also sells single gemstones and loose diamonds, offering a range of options for passengers to choose from.

The new branch, which has been designed in the shape of the figure ‘8’ by a local architect, is the biggest of the three stores, covering a retail space of 1,280ft². It is located in the Grand Hall, behind the iconic Urs Fischer-designed Lamp Bear, making it easily visible and accessible to all passengers traveling through the airport.

Luis Gasset, senior vice president, Qatar Duty Free, said, “We are delighted with the opening of our third Gold store at Hamad International Airport, offering the finest jewelry to our passengers, with outstanding quality and value. The newly opened store, which is the biggest of all three, not only gives passengers more choice, but its increased presence in the airport makes it easier than ever to access one of our stores to buy something to remember.

“Whether passengers are looking for a special gift, or simply a timeless piece to add to their own jewelry collection, our staff will cater to their exact needs, and they will have a high-end experience from beginning to end.

“The opening is an example of Qatar Duty Free’s continuous efforts in enhancing our passengers’ overall experience and providing them with a memorable five-star experience at our award-winning airport.”

Hamad Airport, the home of Qatar Duty Free, has met a number of significant milestones in 2017, including being classified as a five-star airport by Skytrax, making it one of only five other airports in the world to achieve this status.

Earlier this year, it was ranked ‘Sixth Best Airport in the World’ by the 2017 Skytrax World Airport Awards, moving up four places from 2016. The airport has also won the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ title for three years in a row and ‘Best Staff Service in the Middle East’ for two years in a row.
