American Express will open its seventh business lounge location in the first half of 2016 in Terminal D at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, USA.

The Centurion Lounge will cover an area of 8,500ft² and will feature noise-buffering workspaces, private showers, private phone areas, a family room, comfortable seating, a computer bar, tranquility areas and access to high-speed wi-fi. Customers will also have access to a complimentary bar and food buffet.

Lisa Durocher, senior vice president of charge cards and benefits, American Express, said, “We set out to create a network of lounges for our card members that give them an amazing experience that is head and shoulders above what you typically find in a domestic lounge. Houston is another major market for our card members and another important step towards expanding our network of lounges from coast to coast.”

Balram Bheodari, general manager, George Bush Intercontinental Airport, said, “With Houston’s growing reputation as a global destination for business and leisure travel, and with international passenger numbers at George Bush Intercontinental Airport increasing at record levels, these types of amenities serve to enhance the experience of the discerning travelers embodied by American Express card members. The Centurion Lounge will align perfectly with our efforts to create a memorable travel experience for passengers at the airport, as they access the almost 200 destinations available via nonstop air service from Houston.”

American Express’s six other US lounge locations include Las Vegas McCarran International, Dallas/Fort Worth International, San Francisco International, Miami International, Seattle-Tacoma International and LaGuardia airports.
