James Martin Kitchen opens at London Stansted

SSP UK, a leading operator of food and beverage (F&B) concessions, has partnered with celebrity chef and television presenter James Martin to operate the first ever James Martin Kitchen, to be located at London Stansted Airport.

James Martin Kitchen is a premium bakery that offers a combination of fresh farm ingredients and high quality baking. With its welcoming and laid-back setting, passengers will have the option to eat in or to grab-and-go.

James Martin said, “I am extremely excited to add James Martin Kitchen into the mix at one of the UK’s busiest airports. Having collaborated with many of Britain’s greatest and smallest food suppliers, passengers will experience a menu of ‘proper British food’, and the fresh flavors and produce will speak for themselves.

“Working with SSP was truly rewarding and helped bring James Martin Kitchen to reality. As a leading F&B operator in the food travel sector, they continuously had the customer in mind so I know James Martin Kitchen is tailored specifically for its audience at Stansted.”

The new outlet is part of a seven-year £135m (US$200m) contract awarded to SSP UK by Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the operator of London Stansted, as part of the airport’s new terminal transformation project. James Martin Kitchen will join Starbucks, Burger King, M&S Simply Food and bar brand Cabin as the five outlets that SSP UK will operate at the airport.

Beth Brewster, retail director of MAG, said, “The opening of the first ever James Martin Kitchen is a very exciting development at Stansted and will be a real hit with passengers seeking different tastes and experiences on their journey through.

“Our aim at Stansted is to give passengers greater choice. James Martin Kitchen offers something a little bit different and will be a very popular addition to the Stansted menu.”
