The Beumer Group’s tote-based baggage handling system, CrisBag, has been certified by the Transport Security Administration for in-tote security screening, the company has announced at Passenger Terminal Expo 2017 in Amsterdam.

Kim Madsen, senior system manager of IT and Controls, Airport and Logistics Systems for the Beumer Group, said, “CrisBag has 100% tracking, it needs less maintenance and consumes less power compared to traditional conveyors. The certification means that US airports can now consider this technology.”

The certification of CrisBag applies to USA airports making migration to a RFID-enabled tote-based baggage handling system more attractive to airports there.
