<p>The airport handled 6.7 million passengers during the month, a 5.3% decrease year-on-year. Heathrow said the drop was driven by the ongoing impact of the conflict on certain markets, and short-term changes to travel plans.</p>
<p>Traffic to the Middle East saw the sharpest decline, down 52.4% year-on-year, while other regions showed more resilience.</p>

<p>The new outlets officially opened on May 4, after Lagardère secured a master concession covering large parts of the airport’s retail and catering space. The rollout marks a milestone in the airport’s plan to expand its commercial offering.</p>
<p>Lars Redeligx, chairman of the management board of Flughafen Düsseldorf, said, “The new restaurants and shops send a strong signal: Düsseldorf Airport is moving another step closer to its goal of becoming one of Europe’s best airports.</p>

<p>DTP has a team of 60 airport specialists with experience in busy and complex airports, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other hubs across Saudi Arabia.</p>

<p>At Copenhagen Airport, Menzies invested €2.7m (US$3.2m) to upgrade the facility, which reopened to passengers on May 1, 2026.</p>

<p>The Passenger Concourse Enhancement Project will include improvements to passenger circulation, such as updated queuing and seating layouts, alongside mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades. Plans also call for upgraded seating with charging options, new flooring and gate podiums, enhanced wayfinding signage and flight information displays, and the addition of a service animal relief area.</p>

<p>The groundbreaking ceremony, held on April 27, 2026, was organized by the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee and Sun Group Corporation. The development will improve air connectivity to the Mui Ne-Phan Thiet area and the South Central Coast.</p>
<p>The airport, located in Mui Ne ward and covering nearly 75 hectares, is being developed to 4E standards, allowing it to handle wide-body aircraft, with an initial capacity of around 2 million passengers per year.</p>

<p>The proposed acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approvals and expected to close in mid-2027, follows Amadeus’s 2024 purchase of Vision-Box and is intended to strengthen its position in airport and border technology.</p>
<p>IPS, headquartered in France, provides biometric and identity services to more than 600 public- and private-sector customers, and employs around 3,300 people globally.</p>
