Turkish Airlines has announced changes to its executive management structure, including new appointments to the board and CEO position.

Prof. Murat Şeker, previously chief financial officer (CFO), has been appointed chairman of the board of directors and the executive committee. He has held several senior roles at the airline, including responsibility for finance, treasury, procurement and investor relations, and has been a member of the board and executive committee since 2021.

Şeker joined Turkish Airlines as CFO in 2016 after holding roles at the World Bank and Ziraat Bank.

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority has appointed Brendan Reed vice president and chief operations officer, effective March 25.

In the role, Reed will oversee terminal and airside operations, aviation and public safety, operational planning and readiness, and facilities management at San Diego International Airport (SAN).

Atif Saeed, president and CEO of San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, said Reed’s experience within the organization supported the appointment: “During the last four years, he led the planning and activation of the US$3.8bn Terminal 1 program, which is the most complex project in the history of the airport.

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) has announced two new director appointments aimed at strengthening its operations and finance teams as passenger growth and infrastructure development continue at Nashville International Airport.

The authority oversees both Nashville International Airport (BNA) and John C Tune Airport.

Caleb Douglas has been promoted to director of operations planning and project coordination, and Samantha Hamilton has been appointed director of financial planning – capital.

JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, has partnered with Hospitality Quotient to introduce a hospitality training program for terminal staff.

Hospitality Quotient is an advisory group within Union Square Hospitality Group. The program will target the thousands of employees working at Terminal 4 and is intended to support the terminal’s ongoing redevelopment.

The initiative forms part of JFKIAT’s T4 North Star strategy, which sets out a long-term vision for Terminal 4 as it undergoes a US$1.5bn transformation.

Munich Airport has said that the grand opening of the new Terminal 1 Pier on April 13 will mark another important step in the development of its infrastructure.

Airports Council International (ACI) World has appointed Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport, as chair of its World Governing Board (WGB) for the 2026-2027 term.

Lammers succeeds Candace McGraw, retired CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), who steps down after completing her term as ACI World’s first female chair.

Lammers has been a member of the ACI World Governing Board since 2019 and served as vice chair from 2024 to 2025.

London Gatwick has appointed Mathieu Boutitie as its new chief technical officer, effective January 1, 2026.

He will succeed Cedric Laurier, who will rejoin Vinci Airports in Paris, following six years at London Gatwick, also effective January 1, 2026.

Boutitie is currently chief technical officer at Kansai Airports in Japan, where Orix Corporation and Vinci Airports have equal shareholdings at 40%.

Smiths Detection Inc. has appointed former Transportation Security Administration (TSA) administrator John S Pistole to the board of directors for Smiths Detection US.

Pistole brings more than three decades of public service and national security leadership to the company. He previously served as deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2004 and TSA administrator from 2010, leading approximately 60,000 employees and overseeing security operations at more than 450 US airports.

In his role as an outside director on the board, Pistole will provide strategic guidance in areas such as global security risk, screening innovation, regulatory engagement and transportation infrastructure protection.

London Gatwick Airport has appointed Jonny Macneal as its new head of aviation development, effective January 5, 2026.

Macneal joins from Edinburgh, also part of Vinci Airports and GIP network, where served as head of aviation since 2022. During his tenure, he led a successful post-pandemic recovery in passenger growth and worked closely with airline partners to expand the airport’s route portfolio and network.
