<p>The Spanish airport operator, which manages London Luton Airport and has recently acquired Leeds Bradford and Newcastle airports, said its long-term strategy is built around four key areas: improving the passenger experience, developing autonomous airport capabilities, exploring new business models and strengthening sustainability.</p>
<p>Vanesa Calvo, head of financing and innovation trends at Aena, presented the framework, which focuses on enhancing the end-to-end passenger journey while integrating new technologies across airport operations.</p>

<p>Security checkpoints are no longer standalone systems operating in isolation. <p>The new platform provides a web-based AODB (airport operational database) – a single and transparent source of operational truth, accessible from anywhere across the airport.</p>

<p dir="ltr">The gatehouses, which have been built to replace existing ones, provide security checkpoints onto the airfield for airport staff and personnel from airport partners such as airlines, fuelers, engineers and crews handling baggage and cargo. The new facilities are equipped with scanning equipment and are the main access points onto the cargo aprons.</p>
