Engineering firm PCL has been awarded a multimillion-dollar contract to construct a new airside terminal at Orlando International Airport in Florida. The construction of the airside terminal is the first phase of a wider US$1.8bn South Terminal development program.

The new world-class domestic and international airport terminal will boast 16 airline gates with flexible configurations to accommodate narrow-body, jumbo and super-jumbo aircraft. Additional work for the project includes the construction of roadways, aprons, taxiways, landscaping, lighting, walkways, aircraft loading bridges, concessions and security improvements.
Preconstruction on the new airside terminal will begin in August 2016 with construction beginning in the first quarter of 2017. The project currently has a completion date of October 2019.
