Melbourne Airport has completed the go-live of the Veovo Intelligent Airport Platform, marking an important milestone in a long-term partnership focused on resilient, integrated airport operations.
The deployment supports Melbourne Airport as it manages significant passenger growth. With traffic volumes rising to over 37 million passengers a year and operational complexity increasing, the airport has invested in a modern operational foundation designed to scale efficiently while protecting performance, security and passenger experience.
The new platform provides a web-based AODB (airport operational database) – a single and transparent source of operational truth, accessible from anywhere across the airport. Core flight and operational data is integrated across flights, resources and stakeholders, enabling operations teams, planners and ground handlers to work from the same live, trusted picture. This improves coordination, reduces manual handoffs and strengthens confidence in operational decision-making.
Built around management by exception principles, the platform reflects the realities of a busy airport environment. Rather than navigating multiple systems, staff are provided with the changes, alerts and decisions that require attention. This enables teams to respond earlier to disruption, protect punctuality and focus effort where it has the greatest impact.
Melbourne Airport also benefits from a modern continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) model. This approach provides ongoing access to new features, performance improvements and security updates allowing the platform to evolve as operational needs change.
Anthony Tomai, CIO at Melbourne Airport, commented, ‘’Working closely with Veovo, we have put in place a modern operations platform that supports current performance and creates a strong foundation for more coordinated and intelligent airport operations.”
James Williamson, CEO of Veovo, said the go-live reflects a shared commitment to practical, long-term transformation: “This project is about partnership as much as technology. Together with Melbourne Airport, we have delivered a resilient operational platform that supports confident operation and resourcing decisions and accelerates their path to total airport management.”
With Veovo’s airport operations system now live, the airport is deploying Veovo’s Revenue Management system for aeronautical billing, which is due to go live later this year.
