<p>The expansion of the CAH facility will complement the launch of Hong Kong International Airport’s three-runway system, set to be completed by 2024. CAH is strategically located within a four-hour flight time to major cities in Asia-Pacific and the Pan-Pearl River Delta region, making its location in the city significant.</p>
<p>DHL Express’s Asia Pacific air network operates on a multi-hub strategy, supported by four hubs – CAH in Hong Kong, North Asia Hub in Shanghai, South Asia Hub in Singapore and Bangkok Hub, linking to approximately 900 DHL Express facilities in the region.</p>

The initiative is designed to comply with the latest European regulations.</p>
<p>Brad Buswell, senior vice president and operations manager at Leidos, said, “We are thrilled to work with Sofia Airport and provide advanced screening technology for their hold baggage operations. We expect this collaboration will enable Sofia Airport to meet current and evolving security needs.”</p>
<p>Leidos will install three EU Standard 3 certified MV:3D explosive detection systems (EDS).</p>

<p>Selahattin Bilgen, iGA’s chief financial officer (CFO) has been appointed as the new acting CEO.</p>
<p>Samsunlu, who is said to have left by mutual consent, had been at the helm of the airport since its opening in 2017.</p>
<p>A statement by the iGA’s executive board said, “We want to thank Mr Samsunlu for his valuable contribution over the last six years, and we have every confidence that we will continue to work together during the coming period, to further strengthen our company.</p>

<p>The Marketplace provides a variety of food, beverage, retail and other services concentrated in an area with 11,000m2  of floorspace right next to the new state-of-the-art security checkpoint. Many of the food and beverage concepts are completely new to the airport.</p>
<p>Charlotte Ljunggren, chief commercial officer at Swedavia, said, “Our vision for the new Marketplace is to make shopping, food and beverages part of the experience for those heading off on their travels.</p>

<p>Areas of infrastructure set to undergo maintenance or be renewed include Pier C, the baggage basement, climate-control systems, walkways, aircraft stands and taxiways.</p>
<p>Ruud Sondag, CEO, Schiphol, said, “After too much of a focus on costs and growth for many years, we must now play catch-up in order to offer employees, travelers and airlines the necessary quality.</p>

<p>DHL combined three properties it leased in a business park in the CVG area into the US$74m distribution center that will employ approximately 400 full and part-time employees. The facility will be equipped with a Honeywell IntelliSort cross-belt loop sorter capable of processing up to 50,000 parcels and packages per hour. The new facility will also house an NPI Gen3 Xstream Dual Lane Sliding Shoe Sorter designed to process up to 24,000 domestic and international parcels and packages per hour.</p>

<p>The Car Rental Service Center will be the largest car rental company facility in the country, with a total surface area of 40,000m2  accommodating around 2,500 vehicles. There will be five buildings where car rental companies can maintain, repair and wash their vehicles. On top of the buildings will be one large roof with 17,000m2 of solar panels.</p>

<p>The Digital Travel Credentials (DTC) system enables passengers to securely create a digital version of their physical passport on their mobile device in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.</p>
<p>Following a series of trials using a DTC developed by SITA and partner Indicio, the Government of Aruba hopes to permanently roll out digital identity to verify visitors arriving on the island, which would make it one of the first countries globally to do so.</p>
