Airport operator Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has unveiled its plans to construct a major integrated development known as SkyCity located next to Hong Kong International Airport in China.
The airport city will include retail complexes, entertainment facilities, dining space, hotels and office towers, spread across 25 hectares of land at the north of the airport island.
SkyCity will be developed in stages with the first phase of the program scheduled for completion in 2021. Invitations for tender submissions for a hotel as well as the retail, dining and entertainment developments will be issued in November 2016 and early 2017 respectively.

- The new development will be located on the northern end of the airport island
- SkyCity will be located landside and will be accessible by passengers and the general public
- Phase one of the project will see the construction of a unique retail, dining and entertainment destination covering more than 2,000,000ft2
- SkyCity will tap into the business potential brought by the construction of the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, strategic road links that will provide greater connectivity within Hong Kong
