Denver International Airport has announced that its new ice rink will open on Friday, November 25. Located on the open air platform between the main terminal and the Westin hotel, the ice rink will be open every day, from 9:00am-9:00pm, closing on January 1. It will be free to use, with visitors able to borrow ice skates, and is intended to ease the frustration of the holiday season travel rush.

Helen Montgomery, a spokesperson for the airport, told local news station 9News, that public money had not been used for the project. United Airlines is sponsoring the ice rink, while a contract company will operate it.

Montgomery told reporters, “We actually have free ice skate rental on-site and we also have an area for shoes and your bags, kind of a changing area, so you can have all your stuff comfortably close to you, but also have a lot of fun at the same time.”
