George Bush Intercontinental Airport has been nominated in the Best Airport Dining category in the annual USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards, with the airport’s dining options receiving nominations in six of the seven awards categories.

Bush airport is nominated for its diverse mix of Texas-based chain restaurants such as Whataburger and Bullritos, as well as chef-driven choices including Bryan Caswell’s 3rd Bar Eating House, Vietnamese-Cajun favorite Bam Bam and a Tex-Mex restaurant called El Real.

Hubcap Grill, located in Terminal A, is nominated in the Best Airport Local/Regional Dining and Best Airport Grab-And-Go Dining categories for serving some of Houston’s favorite burgers and hand-spun milkshakes.

The Breakfast Klub, also located in Terminal A, is nominated in the Best Airport Local/Regional Dining category for serving a full menu of breakfast favorites featured at its sidewalk location in Houston’s Midtown district, as well as sandwiches and salads.

Hugo’s Cocina, located in Terminal D, is up for the Best Airport Sitdown Dining award thanks to its fresh and flavorful dishes from several regions of Mexico, all made from scratch, while Yume! in Terminal E, is nominated in the Best Airport Bar/Restaurant Atmosphere category for its unique setting – a canopy of Chinese lanterns hangs above diners, designed to bring the vibrancy of an Asian night market.

Cadillac Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar, located in Terminal A, and Beerhive, located in Terminal E, are battling it out for the Best Airport Bar award, and Culturemap in Terminals A and C, is hoping to be named Best Airport Newsstand/Travel Essential.

Nominees for all categories were chosen by a panel of experts, including editors from USA Today and 10Best.com, as well as expert contributors.

Airport Experience News worked with industry experts to vet and nominate 15 finalists in each category, and USA Today 10Best readers have until noon on January 28, 2019, to vote for their favorites.
