Hotel planned for Helsinki

Construction is to start next year on Finland’s largest hotel, at Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport.

LAK Real Estate will build the hotel, which is scheduled to open in 2023. The 13-story building will have more than 700 rooms, and will offer large-scale conference services, something the airport has lacked to date. The top floor will house a Sky Bar, and an indoor passage will connect the hotel to both the airport terminal and the railway station.

“It is great to have a world-class hotel at Helsinki-Vantaa, to complement the service offering of the airport and support the airport development as a significant European air traffic hub, said airport owner, Finavia chief executive officer Kimmo Mäki.

Nordic Choice Hotels will operate the new hotel.
