The Clark County Board of Commissioners has approved a new seven-year, US$1.5bn contract extension for HMSHost to invest in opening new and remodeled restaurants at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport.
The extension takes HMSHost’s term at McCarran to 2035. Recently opened restaurants brought to McCarran by HMSHost are included in the extension, including Shake Shack and the first North American airport-located Pret A Manger. Further planned developments will begin opening by 2021.
As HMSHost redevelops its airport offerings, the global restaurateur will bring some of the Las Vegas region’s most beloved and local coffee and restaurant brands into the airport. Anticipated new dining options include national and regional favorites as well as successful HMSHost concepts designed with travelers in mind like La Familia and PZA.
HMSHost’s current restaurants in McCarran include Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill, Las Vegas ChopHouse, Metro Pizza, PGA Tour Grill, Ruby’s Diner, and Brookwood Farms BBQ among many others.
“With this approval from Clark County, HMSHost has the unique and enviable opportunity to build on the truly great partnership we have with McCarran International Airport and deliver the industry’s best dining experiences to Las Vegas travelers. We thank the County Commission and airport team for this extension as we look forward to creating and opening these new restaurants together,” said HMSHost president and CEO Steve Johnson.
“We are extremely pleased to extend what’s been a longstanding and productive partnership with HMSHost,” said Clark County director of aviation Rosemary Vassiliadis. “Along with the brands our customers already love, we’re seeking new and different F&B concepts and services to better support our expanding customer base. A mix of the familiar coupled with diverse new options will better reflect our standing as a leading international destination, and we’re confident the team at HMSHost will help us to achieve our goals, enhancing our customers’ experience along the way.”
