Specialty stores prepare to open at Pittsburgh International

Kirstie PickeringBy Kirstie PickeringFebruary 19, 20192 Mins Read

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Fraport Pittsburgh are introducing a variety of specialty stores that are set to open this spring, with offerings ranging from a one-of-a-kind fragrance bar to an interactive play space for children and parents alike.

Six new stores will be opening in the Center Core of the airside terminal, with opening hours of 5am to 8pm from Sunday to Friday, and 5am to 7.30pm on Saturdays.

The new stores will include Timeless Travel, which carries a wide range of watches, bags and accessories from top designers and brands including Michael Kors, Armani, Furla, Prada, Tissot, Fossil, Montblanc and Coach, with new selections arriving monthly. Perfectly Plane Fun will provide an interactive space filled with toys, games, puzzles and more to entertain children and adults alike, while The Candy Shoppe is a candy boutique set to open in March.

Other retailers will include sock store Soul Mates, baggage and accessory outlet Baggallini and one of a kind fragrance bar Galleria.

Cathy Simoni, vice president of Fraport Pittsburgh, the developer of the concessions program at PIT, said, “We’re pleased to introduce new concepts that cater to the airport’s growing passenger base and create a vibrant retail experience.

“Like any retail environment, our program at Pittsburgh International Airport is dynamic and evolves with consumer tastes and trends. Our focus continues to be on serving the traveling public and giving passengers and guests a great experience at the airport.”

Eric Sprys, chief commercial officer at Allegheny County Airport Authority, added, “As we continue to increase the number of passengers in our terminal, we’re eager to introduce new concepts and stores throughout the airport. We expect to add even more shopping and dining options in the upcoming year.”
