Alstef to install baggage reclaim system at Québec City Jean Lesage International

French baggage handling specialist Alstef has been selected by Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport in Canada to install three new reclaim carousels.

The order is part of the airport’s expansion and redevelopment project, called YQB 2018, which includes more than 10 construction and technological improvement projects. Increasing the number of baggage carousels dedicated to international flights is one of the goals of this transformation, with two lines of inclined carousels and one out-of-gauge line.

Given the distance between the baggage drop-off facilities and the reclaim carousels, Alstef plans to install high-speed conveyors to decrease the baggage delivery time. The installation, which is due for completion in October 2017, is being managed by Alstef’s subsidiary in Canada.
