Siemens Postal, Parcel and Airport Logistics (SPPAL) has been awarded three lots from London Gatwick Airport’s baggage framework contract for the design, controls and integration of baggage handling facilities at the airport. Siemens has a proven track record in providing the installation, operation and maintenance of baggage handling systems within the aviation industry.

Thomas Amend, managing director of SPPAL in the UK, said, “This is exceptionally good news for us. Siemens is absolutely delighted to have got through all three work lots.”

Karen Brown, head of procurement, Gatwick Airport, said, “Congratulations to the team at Siemens. London Gatwick is a world leader and this new framework agreement will allow Siemens to help ensure this remains the case for many years to come.

“Gatwick Airport looks forward to continuing to work closely with Siemens to improve and innovate technology across the airport and to help the airport operate efficiently and smoothly while creating a great passenger experience.”
