The Kuwait Council of Ministers, the chief executive body of the State of Kuwait, has approved airline operator Jazeera Airways’ request to acquire land to build a terminal at Kuwait International Airport.

The new terminal would help ease the congestion at the airport, which is currently operating over capacity. The project is valued at approximately KWD14m (US$46m), with a total construction timeframe of 15 months, including the acquisition of permits.

The new terminal is part of the airline’s ‘Next Big Thing’ series of value boosting projects and initiatives aimed at creating a better travel experience for passengers on the ground and in the air. Other initiatives include a remote check-in facility, inflight wi-fi and a new business class lounge at the airport.
