Gatwick passengers meet gin ambassadors

Throughout August 2019, brand ambassadors for a small-batch gin handmade on the UK’s Isle of Wight have been promoting the drink to Gatwick passengers.

Blackjack Promotions’ Mermaid Gin brand ambassadors have been spreading the word about the craft spirit, explaining how it’s made using 10 botanicals, including elderflower and rock samphire, the latter giving the gin its unique essence of the island’s coastline and a tag line ‘Hint of Sea Air’.  The gin also features Boadicea hops grown in the local botanical gardens at Ventnor, on the Isle of Wight.

According to Malcolm McClellan, sales director at the Isle of Wight Distillery, Blackjack Promotions was hired to support the distillery’s “exceptionally busy sales team” in making the most of the opportunity to promote Mermaid Gin at Gatwick.

The Gatwick campaign has proved so successful that it has been extended until the end of September, while Blackjack has also been asked to run a number of out-of-airport Mermaid Gin activations and events.
