Mad Mex restaurant opens at Brisbane Airport

Australian-based restaurant chain Mad Mex has opened a new outlet in Brisbane Airport as part of the International Terminal’s AU$45m (US$34m) redevelopment program.

Passengers and airport staff can choose from a selection of authentic Mexican street food staples including crispy tacos, slow roasted beef and pork, burritos, nachos and quesadillas. With hundreds of stores across Australia, Brisbane International Mad Mex is only the second airport location in the country and is the only place at the airport to get Mexican food.

Operated by Spotless, the new store design incorporates two previous tenancies into one large tenancy, including a dedicated seating area, colorful Mad Mex branding and unique Corona bottle chandeliers.

The inclusion of Mad Mex at the airport was the result of passenger feedback about the availability of more fresh and healthy fast food options at the terminal. Brisbane Airport’s redevelopment of the International Terminal is nearing completion with 70% of the facelift now complete.

The terminal now boasts 10 brand new F&B and retail stores including Tuk Chop, Burger Urge, Boost Juice, Windmill & Co, Corretto Bar & Café, The Botanist, JR/Watch Co, JR/Duty Free, Billabong and Merino Collection.
