Airport operator Cambodia Airports has officially opened the new Plaza Premium Lounge at Phnom Penh International Airport in Cambodia.

Located on the mezzanine floor of international departures, the new Plaza Premium Lounge provides travelers with a tranquil and comfortable environment in which to relax ahead of their flight. The new facility spans over 15,000ft² and is capable of seating up to 300 passengers. It is the first independent lounge in Cambodia and is open to all passengers for a fee, regardless of their airline or class of travel.

The lounge interior has been constructed using high quality fabrics, timbers and polished granite to help create a contemporary yet relaxed atmosphere. The bar and dining area also features a photo wall showcasing a collection of vintage pictures of Cambodia, reinforcing a sense of place with travelers.

Chloé Lapeyre, general manager of Phnom Penh International Airport, said, “Plaza Premium Group is a market leader and pioneer for airport pay-in lounge operations. We partner with companies whose mindset is excellence and who have the capacity to deliver it. With that in mind, our choice of Plaza Premium Group for operating the airports’ lounges was unarguably the appropriate one.”

Song Hoi-see, founder and CEO of Plaza Premium Group, said, “This is our first lounge in Cambodia. We firmly believe our presence will enhance travelers’ experience at this airport in the wake of Cambodia’s booming tourism industry.”

Plaza Premium’s latest lounge contains three shower rooms, complimentary

wi-fi throughout and a number of electrical outlets for charging mobile devices. It also houses a Wellness Spa providing massages and treatments, as well as a private VIP room with seating for 10 guests.

The lounge kitchen offers an array of food and beverage options including signature dishes such as Thai-style coconut and chicken soup noodles, and Vietnamese spring rolls filling with prawns or mixed vegetables. Beverages include tea, coffee, juices and a range

of soft drinks.

Prices for the lounge start at US$35 for two hours access or US$50 for five hours. Later in 2016, Plaza Premium Group will also open its second Cambodian airport lounge at Siem Reap International Airport.
