Retail operator Lagardère has been awarded five concessions including news, convenience and souvenir outlets at Gold Coast Airport in Queensland, Australia. The contracts have been awarded for five-year terms.

Lagardère currently operates NewsLink, Hub, Discover, M.A.C Cosmetics, Victoria Secret Beauty & Accessories, tech2go and Aelia Duty Free at the airport.

Matthieu Mercier, Pacific region CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail, said, “We were thrilled to receive the news our offer was successful. Having operated in Gold Coast Airport since 2002, to be selected again as Gold Coast Airport’s partner of choice signals a long, confident and successful partnership in this fast growing airport.

“Our teams are committed to delivering exceptional concepts to the airport, together with strong staff engagement and award winning customer service to all travelers, with an eye on the fast approaching 2018 Commonwealth Games.”

Marion Charlton, chief operating officer, Gold Coast Airport, said, “We are confident, based on our experience with Lagardère Travel Retail, that a strong mix of local flavor will be incorporated within the stores upon refurbishment completion early next year.”
