Schiphol Group has sold 60% of the shares for the liquor, tobacco and confectionary retail section at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to concessionaire Gebr Heinemann.

The joint venture means that Schiphol Group retains 40% of the shares going forward and that the retail section will continue to operate under the name Schiphol Airport Retail (SAR).

It is expected SAR will benefit from the experience that Gebr Heinemann has gained in the duty free, travel retail and e-commerce sectors. As a result of the agreement, Schiphol Group expects to generate a book profit in the first half of 2015.
