Airport operator Dubai Airports has launched a new initiative to intermittently host and promote live music to entertain passengers at Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The initiative, known as musicDXB, will kick things off with two performance by Britain’s Got Talent finalists Jack Pack, on November 11, 2015.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said, “Much like Dubai International, music connects people from all walks of life, all ages and all cultures around the globe. We believe the two will work together in absolute harmony to engage and delight our customers in the airport and across our social media platforms.

“We are thrilled to launch the program with such high profile superstars, but our goal is to also put the spotlight on up-and-coming talent from Dubai, the UAE and around the globe who have proven their passion and ability to entertain our growing fan base on the world’s largest stage.”

In recognition of the new initiative, Dubai Airports is promoting a competition where passengers can win tickets to see Katy Perry perform at the Dubai Airshow Gala dinner taking place at Dubai South on November 10, 2015. The competition will run from September 16, 2015, with entries being registered via the Dubai International Facebook page.
