NEC Display Solutions unveils a new approach to displays at Passenger Terminal Expo

NEC Display Solutions, a provider of airport display technology solutions, has unveiled a new approach to displaying information at the airport through the use of LED display surfaces.

According to the company, LED technology is set to transform how architects design and build airports, as it offers building blocks of a digital surface, allowing greater opportunity for creativity and better addressing the particular needs of each stakeholder at the airport.

New shapes and new surfaces can be explored and turned into digital surfaces. This gives advertisers, designers, operations, retailers – any aspect of the airport that is concerned with a positive passenger experience – the opportunity to completely change how people interact with visual information and to do so while benefiting the profitability of the airport.

Richard Wilks, aviation business development manager, EMEA, NEC Display Solutions, said, “At Passenger Terminal Expo 2016 we are showcasing new ways in which innovative display solutions transform the passenger experience, making it a smooth and intuitive visual journey. By leveraging new technologies, such as LED, we can create digital surfaces, opening the door to a completely new airport experience.”

At Passenger Terminal Expo, NEC will also demonstrate reliable display applications dedicated to each stage of the airport experience, including presenting flight information, interactive wayfinding, engaging retail solutions, the departure gate of the future and monitoring in the control room.
