Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, Azerbaijan, has partnered with Amadeus to to future-proof its IT and passenger systems.
Amadeus’s Airport IT technology in use at the airport includes core airport management systems such as an operational database, resource management and flight information display systems. The airport will also deploy its key passenger processing systems using Amadeus’s cloud-based Airport Common Use Service. The move represents the first time an airport has relied on the cloud to deliver all its core systems.
The implementation of these new airport systems will enable world-class operations at Baku’s international airport, with a single, consistent view of operations without the need for manual updates. For example, the move to Amadeus’s cloud-based Airport Operational Database (AODB) will ensure real-time awareness of airline schedule changes thanks to automated updates to the system.
Thanks to an efficient common use service delivered from the cloud, Baku can now flexibly scale passenger processing services up or down depending on demand. The airport is also now equipped for innovative new approaches such as off-site check-in.
