US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) has issued a solicitation notice, seeking biometric systems to modernize its Global Entry program.
CBP is looking to acquire biometric solutions capable of enabling travelers to proceed through high-throughput lanes in a continuous flow environment using biometric facial comparison solutions integrated with CBP Traveler Verification Service (TVS) or successor systems.
TVS is a facial biometric matching service that compares live-captured photographs against temporary galleries, which are assembled using source photos of travelers arriving or departing the port of entry. The service verifies travelers’ identities and responds within seconds with match results. The operational deployment is intended for arriving Global Entry air travelers. According to the solicitation notice, “the solution shall capture facial images and transmit those images to CBP systems for processing.”
Companies interested in responding to the solicitation must be able to design, deploy and integrate the biometric facial comparison system at 38 international airport terminals with the highest Global Entry saturation.
