Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) and Uber have announced a partnership that will give passengers another way to travel to and from Sydney’s new airport, starting October 25.
Uber will operate an exclusive pickup zone about 100m from WSI’s terminal, including 10 curbside pickup bays for departures. Signage and wayfinding throughout the terminal and precinct will direct departing passengers to the zone.
WSI CEO Simon Hickey said the partnership would expand the choice and flexibility available to passengers, adding to existing options including driving, public bus links, taxis, car hire, private transfer and on-site parking.
“As the countdown continues to the launch of our inaugural passenger services on October 25, it’s fantastic to have so many options available for passengers to get to and from WSI,” he said. “We know how convenient rideshare is for passengers, being able to order an Uber on demand, with transparent upfront costs and timings applied to your journey. And we are thrilled that WSI’s rideshare services will provide an opportunity for Uber drivers who live in or around Western Sydney to make the most of the chance to work closer to home. The interest and engagement we’ve already had from local rideshare drivers has been terrific, and it’s great that their opportunities to service people traveling to and from WSI will continue to grow, in line with demand, over the months and years ahead.”
Emma Foley, managing director for Uber Australia and New Zealand, said the company was expanding its airport footprint to Sydney’s newest aviation hub.

Uber and WSI will continue sharing the airport’s flight schedule with drivers as new routes come online. WSI began cargo operations on July 27, 2026, with passenger services starting October 25, 2026.
