Global architecture and design firm Corgan has appointed Ben Dawson as Aviation & Transportation Studio leader in its Singapore office. He will grow the firm’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region and advise clients on airport design projects intended to improve the passenger experience and operational efficiency.

Dawson has almost 20 years of experience in architecture and aviation design across the region. His portfolio includes airport masterplanning, terminal redevelopment, commercial planning and greenfield airport development. Projects he has worked on include the Kansai International Airport Terminal 1 renovation in Japan, Clark International Airport in the Philippines, Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 4 and Changi Terminal 1 upgrade, Jakarta Terminal 3 in Indonesia, commercialization strategy work with Vinci Airports in Europe, and the Sunshine Coast Airport terminal expansion in Australia. In Singapore, he also oversaw the design and construction of Gardens by the Bay, a development at Marina Bay reported to have cost US$1bn.

Corgan is ranked the fourth-largest architecture firm in the US by Building Design + Construction. The firm’s other airport projects include LaGuardia Airport Terminal C, John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 6, Los Angeles International Airport’s West Gates at Tom Bradley and Terminal 5, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Concourse D, and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Terminal D.
