Billy Bishop Airport records busiest month in its history

Airport operator PortsToronto announced today (September 21) that 268,584 people traveled through Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport in Ontario in August 2016, marking the busiest month in its history.

More than 782,000 passengers arrived and departed through the airport this summer, making it the busiest summer in its history. Both Porter Airlines and Air Canada contributed to the high passenger numbers, which were a combination of leisure and business travelers.

Gene Cabral, executive vice president, PortsToronto, said, “With two award-winning commercial carriers with direct service to more than 20 destinations in Canada and the USA, and connections to 80 international destinations via our airlines’ networks, Billy Bishop Airport is an important gateway for business and leisure travelers alike.
