Siemens Logistics has been awarded a comprehensive order to modernize and optimize the baggage handling system at Spain’s Palma de Mallorca Airport.

The scope of delivery includes the integration of new screening units as well as the installation of six Siemens tilt-tray sorter units (VarioSort TTS), 79 baggage carousels, and 60 check-ins.

“We are pleased to continue our successful cooperation with Aena”, said Michael Reichle, CEO of Siemens Logistics. “We will make sure that our customer matches today’s demands and tomorrow’s challenges.”

Siemens Logistics has its own Spanish national company, headquartered in Tres Cantos, near Madrid, and has installed a team of experts in Palma de Mallorca.
