Tampa International Airport (TPA) has officially inaugurated 69 new retail and food and beverage outlets in its main terminal with a grand opening ceremony held on February 16, which included live entertainment such as rock star-inspired stilt walkers outside the Hard Rock Cafe.
The stores to open include MIXX and Bay to Bay in Airside F, selling travel essentials and fashion accessories, a pop-up Tampa shop selling local goods, a variety of news/convenience and F&B options, a Tampa Bay Sports store and a 6,300ft² (585m²) Shoppes at Bayshore outlet.
The terminal and concession renovations are part of a three-phase capital investment program designed to increase capacity at the airport from 21 million to 34 million passengers a year.
Laurie Noyes, vice president of concessions and parking at TPA, said, “We set out to create an all-new experience for our guests and turn the airport into a destination unto itself.
“Our new shops and restaurants reflect our region and better meet the needs of today’s travelers. We encourage everyone to come out and explore TPA.”
