Expensive luggage costs could be a thing of the past after a coat claiming to hold 15kg (33lbs) of personal items hit Kickstarter.

The Airport Jacket boasts 14 deep pockets, detachable sections that offer three coat lengths and a built-in bag to meet hand luggage dimensions.

The video supporting the campaign shows a woman packing her coat with a laptop, multiple items of clothing and toiletry bags, before rolling it up into the built-in bag that also lives within the coat.

The black jacket is available in men’s and women’s sizes XS to 4XL, with four seasonally-appropriate styles on offer. The summer coat is a light, water resistant model while the winter collection is 100% wool.

The Kickstarter campaign’s reward range from a duffle bag when A$45 (US$34) is donated, up to two winter jackets, two summer jackets and four toiletries bags if A$999 (US$767) is transferred.

The Australia-based creators are hoping to reach their A$100,000 (US$76,800) goal, with A$3,675 (US$2,822) already pledged when going to press. For more information, click here.
